Debbie and I are looking forward to attending the Centennial Dinner tonight in Broomfield. It will be an opportunity for me to connect with many friends from my days in the State House. Thanks to Glenn and Mary Janssen for making our attendance possible through giving us their meal tickets while they work the room as the official photographers for the evening.<\/p>\n<p>I do feel that I am learning to manage my energy better. As my day was moving along, I decided to take a quick nap instead of heading out to the curb to wheel around in my new wheelchair. My occupational therapist is coming this afternoon and then I need to do a quick change to be ready for this evening\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>When you pray, say this:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Father,<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>let your <strong>name <\/strong>be kept holy.<\/em><em><br \/>\nLet your <strong>kingdom<\/strong> come.<br \/>\nGive us our <strong>bread <\/strong>day by day.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>Forgive <\/em><\/strong><em>us as we forgive everyone else.<\/em><em><br \/>\nDon\u2019t allow us to be <strong>tempted<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Luke 11:2-4 (GW)<\/p>\n<p>These verses above are the \u201cLord\u2019s Prayer\u201d from the God\u2019s Word Translation. As I read this verse this morning the brevity and succinctness caught my attention. It came across more like the brief outline of the basic priorities on which we should focus our life:<\/p>\n<p>1 \u2013 Honoring God\u2019s name \u2013 Do our lives reflect His character and bring Him glory?<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Focusing on His Kingdom \u2013 His Kingdom is eternal, this world is temporary<\/p>\n<p>3 \u2013 Daily provision for needs \u2013 \u201cDaily\u201dcan be a challenge, but it calls us to trust Him<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2013 Forgiving and being forgiven \u2013 The key to healthy relationships<\/p>\n<p>5 \u2013 Victory in temptation \u2013 Keeping our relationship and communion with Christ strong<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 6:33 in Jesus teaching on worry He says, <em>\u201cBut first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.<\/em><em>\u201d<\/em> (GW)<\/p>\n<p>The idea is\u2026<em>\u201cFocus on earth and you may miss heaven. Focus on heaven and the things of earth will come as a consequence.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, there are five words to help you remember the heart of the \u201cLord\u2019s Prayer.\u201d Name, kingdom, bread, forgive, temptation. Five words, five priorities that are critical for our lives.
