This is a three plus hour process that I am involved in designed to build my immune system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY&#8230;<\/strong>\u00a0<em>&#8220;<span class=\"text Ps-116-1\">I love the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> because he hears my voice<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-116-1\">and my prayer for mercy.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NLT-15827\" class=\"text Ps-116-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0<\/sup>Because he bends down to listen,<\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><em><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"text Ps-116-2\"><em>I will pray as long as I have breath!&#8221;<\/em> Psalm 116:1,2 NLT<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Do you love the Lord? If so why? Have you ever given it thought? Have you ever articulated it in praise or prayer? The psalmist declares his love for the Lord because he knows the Lord hears his prayer and provides His mercy in the time of need. He is in awe that the God of the universe <em>&#8220;bends down to listen.&#8221;<\/em> As a result, he is motivated to pray and to keep on praying. He says, <em>&#8220;as long as I have breath.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As Psalm 116 unfolds we get a clearer picture of the situation the psalmist was in,<em> &#8220;<span id=\"en-NLT-15828\" class=\"text Ps-116-3\">Death wrapped its ropes around me;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Ps-116-3\">the terrors of the grave<span style=\"font-size: 10px;\">\u00a0<\/span>overtook me.<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><em><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"text Ps-116-3\"><em>I saw only trouble and sorrow.&#8221;<\/em> (Psalm 116:3 NLT) It is in this circumstance that the psalmist cries out to the Lord.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The psalmist continues and declares, <em>&#8220;The <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> <strong>protects<\/strong> those of childlike faith&#8230;&#8221;<\/em> (Psalm 116:6 NLT) You don&#8217;t need &#8220;mountain-moving&#8221; faith for the Lord to hear, you just need &#8220;childlike&#8221; faith. But then, the faith of a child may be the strongest and most trusting that can be found.<\/p>\n<p>The Lord\u00a0<strong>delivers.<\/strong>\u00a0<em>&#8220;<span id=\"en-NLT-15833\" class=\"text Ps-116-8\">He has saved me from death,<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-116-8\">my eyes from tears,<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><em><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"text Ps-116-8\"><em>my feet from stumbling.&#8221;<\/em> (Psalm 116:8 NLT)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Lord grants us His <strong>presence.<\/strong> <em>&#8220;&#8230;<span id=\"en-NLT-15834\" class=\"text Ps-116-9\">so I walk in the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u2019s presence<\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><em><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"text Ps-116-9\"><em>as I live here on earth!&#8221;<\/em> (Psalm 116:9 NLT) The Lord&#8217;s abiding presence is not just a future promise, it is a present reality as we live in relationship and trust in Him.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In response to all of this the psalmist asks,\u00a0<em><span id=\"en-NLT-15837\" class=\"text Ps-116-12\">What can I offer the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span><\/span><\/em><em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-116-12\">for all he has done for me?<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text Ps-116-12\">\u00a0He then makes this commitment, <em>&#8220;<span id=\"en-NLT-15838\" class=\"text Ps-116-13\">I will lift up the cup of salvation<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-116-13\">and praise the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u2019s name for saving me.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NLT-15839\" class=\"text Ps-116-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0<\/sup>I will keep my promises to the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"indent-1\"><em><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"text Ps-116-14\"><em>in the presence of all his people.&#8221;<\/em> (Psalm 116:13,14 NLT)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I am reminded of Paul&#8217;s words to the Romans, <em>&#8220;And so, dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy\u2014the kind he can accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?&#8221;<\/em> (Romans 12:1,2 LB)<\/p>\n<p>The natural response of our love for God is reflected in our worship and our lifestyle. The character of Christ and the fruit of the Spirit should be a priority for our life. Why? Because&#8230;.we love the Lord for all that He does and all the He is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY&#8230; <\/strong><em>Lord, help our love for You to grow stronger and stronger as we learn of You and observe Your faithfulness in our lives.
